Given there are so many great burger places around, I find that I do not usually review the burgers from the many small, take away shops that I have frequented over the years. However, when I find myself returning to the same place for another burger, I know that it is worthy of reviewing and giving everyone the opportunity to also enjoy the delightfully tasting treat. The place is called “Fresh & Fried on Rainbow” in Coolangatta, right near Rainbow Bay and I found myself there after a few hours in the sun on the beach.
I ordered the “Granna’s Burger” which is a burger with the lot – beef, tomato, lettuce, onion, cheese, pineapple and “hold the beetroot”, then it has double bacon, double cheese, double egg and a hash brown, with your choice of sauce and I went with BBQ. This is a typical, flat, sloppy looking, fish n chip styled burger that probably doesn’t look overly inviting. However, as they say, do not judge a burger by it’s appearance. From the first bite, I was blown away with the tastiness of this burger. The combination of the patty, cheese, bacon and BBQ sauce is delightful. The hash brown is surprisingly good, without being too heavy. The best part was the double egg – so good!
This was a really awesome burger, and as I said, it got me back there for another one. So if you are in the area and have the munchies, I highly recommend you check this place out and throw down a “Granna’s Burger” of your own – definitely worth it!
