Going a week without a burger can feel like a year sometimes! So I was super keen to get my hands on a burger for dinner. There is a new place that has opened in Boronia recently, called “Mums Burger Kitchen” and I wanted to give it a go.

An unassuming looking place, with plenty of seating available, there are a few different kind of burgers on the menu with names like Bob, Trent and Barbara. However, like an episode of Baywatch, my eyes went straight for the “Pamela” – double beef patty, double cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, garlic, aioli and tomato relish.

With the sun shining through the window, I thought about a bikini clad Pammy (aka “CJ Parker”) bouncing her way along the beach in slow motion, which then moved to me picturing myself eating the burger in slow motion and enjoying every single bite of it! Unfortunately, my thoughts didn’t quite match reality this time. The burger was ok, but the whole time I was trying to work out why it didn’t blow my hair back, rather than be thinking what was so awesome about it, if that makes sense?! The sauces, cheese, etc were all good, but the bun was a bit sweet and whilst the meat patties were thick, they lacked punch or something?! I should have added bacon and egg too! Doh!

If the intention was to create something that tasted like it came from “Mums Kitchen”, then I’d say its been a great success. For me, it didn’t quite hit the spot, so I’m not sure I will be rushing back – why not get down there and try it for yourself?!
