Well the festive season may be in full swing, but it has been WAY too long between burgers. Todays adventure was to The Local Taphouse in St Kilda, which is “ a European-inspired neighbourhood tavern specialising in craft beer” and what goes better with beer than a burger?! Especially one called the “3 Beer Beef Burger”!!

Now, whilst the burger is named after the ingredients (German smoked beer marinated beef, pilsner battered onion ring and beer battered frites), it could also be taken that a minimum of 3 beers should be consumed to truly compliment the experience, so rather than defy logic I made sure I covered all bases!!

The burger was fairly straight forward – cheese, tomato, lettuce, mayo and the onion ring in the burger, which was the same as the Legendary 10oz Burger at the Hard Rock Café! The patty was very tasty, the mayo not too over powering and the onion ring gave the whole thing a kick! It was perfectly put together too and a very “clean eat”. The only criticism was the temperature could have been a fraction higher.

Chips on the side were good, but not worth writing home about.

If you’re in the area and looking for a casual meal, it’d worth dropping in as the place has a great atmosphere and plenty of beers to choose from too!

What’s the best beer to enjoy with a burger?
